Trusted Tale: An Affair of Sarees & Trust
✨ A quiet moment from 2016 — a milestone that shaped our journey.
A story That Will Always Stay With Us
Back in December 2016, we received a message from Namrata Kolar — a working professional and someone who clearly had a deep love for Indian handloom textiles.
She and her sister had fallen in love with a red Patola saree they spotted online. By the time they decided, it was already sold out. But instead of moving on, they reached out to us — hopeful, curious, and trusting. They needed two identical sarees for a family wedding and were willing to wait as we spoke to our weavers and promised to try.
Since these are handcrafted textiles, each piece carries its own subtle variation — no two can ever be perfectly alike. There are always small changes in colour, pattern, or rhythm in the weave. But Namrata understood this deeply. Her questions were thoughtful, her intent clear. She didn’t just want a saree; she wanted to create a story to remember — and for both sisters to share that moment together.
For us, the trust she placed wasn’t just in the product — it was in the craft, in our word, and in time itself.

With a lot of heart (and many discussions with our weaver), we put together two sarees that captured the essence of the original. We shared photos, offered full clarity, and hoped she would feel the connection we had with those pieces.

We still remember that peaceful Sunday noon — January 29, 2016
A message blinked on screen:
“The saree is beautiful — we’re keeping both. Payment initiated.”
She had never visited us, never touched the fabric in person.
And yet, she placed her trust in us.
That simple moment became something far greater — a quiet affirmation that we were on the right path. It's stayed with us ever since.

This photo here was shared by her soon after receiving the sarees — our original Chakor packaging.
Her heartfelt Facebook review that followed was one of our earliest milestones. Though the post has since been lost — likely due to changing privacy settings — her words, and her warmth, have never left us.
She later visited our Bangalore exhibition and selected more pieces from our Woven Love Stories collection. And every time we’ve spoken since, it’s felt like reconnecting with someone who’s been part of Chakor’s journey from the very beginning.
We’ll always remember this order not just for the sarees, but for what it meant: that work and efforts still speak when it’s made with honesty. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.
🕊️ Namrata, if you ever read this — THANK YOU!
